Job Title: Mortgage Loan Processing Manager
Reports to: SVP, Residential Lending Dept. Manager
Summary
Marine Bank and Trust is looking for a Loan Processing Manager for our Vero Beach, FL branch office. We are seeking a highly motivated mortgage professional that is a team player and will be committed to the banks mission to provide a better experience built on quality service, competitive products, devoted employees whose goals are based on exceeding the expectations of our customers, and stakeholders. This position will be responsible for leading and supporting a processing team and to be an efficient multi-tasker responsible for managing all stages of the loan file from origination to closing within secondary market investor guidelines and Marine Bank and Trust residential lending policies and guidelines.
Primary Responsibilities
Supporting processors and processing support staff, promoting timely and courteous service and overseeing regulatory compliance with strengths in RESPA, TRID and ATR/QM, Quality Control and HMDA reporting.
- Sets daily priorities for all processing staff, while maintaining compliance with regulatory guidance
- Maintain feedback with loan officers, Dept. managers, closers/funders to ensure high standards of continuing loan quality and peer effectiveness.
- Make sure all processing staff meets required deadlines for loans within their pipeline
- Provides guidance to all processing and support staff on program guidelines and acceptable documentation to meet program, agency and investor guidelines.
- Proficient in how to look up all program guidelines
- Fluent with DU & LP
- Must be proficient with FHA, VA, Construction Conventional, HUD and Agency guidelines
- As directed by Residential Dept. Manager, assist other departments within the Loan Administration dept. in resolving issues with problem loan accounts in order to protect the Bank from possible loss.
- Perform Quality Control on loans certifying that all information is accurate and in accordance with Federal and State mortgage lending regulations
- Responsible for all HR issues including annual reviews, hiring of new personnel and recommending corrective action plans
- Provides ongoing training, coaching and mentoring to staff on a regular basis. Holds meetings with staff to communicate any changes or issues on a regular basis
- Responsible for organizing and maintaining pipeline reviews with residential lending dept. manager
- Maintains a thorough knowledge of the Loan Origination System as well as all related systems and identifies and implements changes to worksheets and work flows within the system
- Monitors doc prep system for the processing documents utilized by department staff
- Identifies required procedural revisions or suggested policy changes as required by defect findings, compliance and or guideline updates for system changes or enhancements.
- Communicates changes to staff and ensures global changes are disseminated through change management protocols.
- Provides training and writes procedures as well as policy suggestions to enhance Marine Bank and Trust lending capabilities.
- Works closely with Residential Lending Dept. Manger to keep open line of communication
- Maintains current knowledge of all rules, regulations and laws that apply to mortgage lending and BSA/OFAC/USA Patriot Act/CIP/AML
Required Qualifications
- Five years of previous mortgage processing experience in FNMA/FHMLC
- Must possess a minimum of 3 years supervisory experience in mortgage processing role
- Excellent customer service skills
- Excellent management skills
- Must be proficient in using Loan Origination Software (Preferred candidates will have experience with Encompass & Calyx PointCentral).
- Must be proficient with FHA, VA, Construction Conventional, HUD and Agency guidelines
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred, or relevant work experience in equivalent role 7-10 years
- MS Excel –Intermediate Level
- MS PowerPoint –Intermediate Level
- MS Word –Intermediate Level
